hi, i know this is random. i was wondering if anyone knew if hamsters see in black and white or in color. thanx

Whenever Gizmo wakes up from sleeping his one eye takes awhile to fully open and it makes me worry about him because I don't really wanna lose another hammie at the moment, specially because he's so young and I just got him about 3 weeks ago. Is it just from sleeping or is there a medical condition here?

I brought a new hamster home Saturday evening. I didn't isolate her from my first hamster, which I know I should have.

well, i think the worst has come and gone... i believe her eye has finally "popped". initially its really disgusting and made me wanna not even look at her, but after the shock of it all, its really not that bad. she's a real trooper and takes it soo well that you cant stop lovin' her for something like that ( Read more... )

Today I saw that my hamster Kinney's one eye is shut and he wont open it! What could be wrong with him? His finger nails look way too long, should I try clipping them? Maybe he scratched his eye?

My first hamster Jingle today had like eye goo. Kinda like how we have that sleep stuff. Is that normal? Yeah... i dont know much. Also, it looked like he had boogers. Is he okay?
He fell asleep in my hands today. hehehe. and then the eye goo was gone when he woke up. so i might be right on that one?

otis has a brownish discharge around her eyes. is anyone familiar with this?

I'm worried about my hammy Spike. I just checked up on him and one of his eyes was closed. I tried to gently open it like I usually do, which normally opens it up and its as if nothing was wrong, but this time he just kept is closed, occasionally opening it slightly.
